My Favorite Flower Pot For You!

Well friends, it's been 10 years since my sister, Arlana, began the Sweet Sketch Wednesday sketch site.  My other sister, Nancy, and I diligently helped in the weekly process of starting something new, exciting and a place where others could display their talents.  Later it was changed to Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2 where other team mates have kept things running.  We've developed many new friends along the way.

This challenge is a throwback to our very first sketch that Arlana created.  I wasn't a designer the first week because my sisters had to convince me that I could do this.  I have so appreciated their encouragement as I found a new love and an excitement for creating my own style and to also try new techniques.  My first week on the Design Team was week two.  I barely knew how to use the paper cutter.  LOL.

Thank you, Kathie and Anne, for wanting to have a throwback from our first week.    Nancy is playing along; however, Arlana is in the middle of moving and her lovely craft room is all packed up.

We hope you will play along and enjoy the fun.  A Day for Daisies is our sponsor this week at SSW2 and is offering a $12 gift certificate to our Grand Prize Winner.

Enjoy!

A Day For Daisies began as a small token to a constant need to create. Pairing a love of whimsical illustration, with a tidy graphic design background, Tammy S Thompson, produced her first stamp designs, introducing irresistibly sweet stamps to crafters around the globe. Drawing inspiration from the beautiful world around us, she strives to express the happiness and gratitude she feels in each stamp design she creates.
Presently, A Day For Daisies has grown to over 3,000 Digital Stamps with a quickly expanding line of Best Loved Clear Polymer. A Day For Daisies has been published and awarded over the years for innovative and unique designs created to inspire the crafting community. With a whole team behind her now, she remains passionate about illustration, obsessed with quality, and dedicated to her customers. A Day For Daisies thanks you for your ideas, comments, and creativity!

Of course, A Day for Daisies is our sponsor this week at Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2.  You may be the lucky winner for the Grand Prize, if you play along.   Wouldn't you love to use a $12 Gift Certificate at their store?

You are the Best!

The moment I saw the rooster and hen images at ADFD I knew that I wanted to use one of them.  I grew up on a farm and at times had the responsibility of gathering eggs from the hen house.  I enjoyed getting the eggs, that is...until the ROOSTER would start chasing and pecking me to get away from his harem.  Despite his meanness, I always enjoyed his beautiful colors especially the turquoise feathers. I think I will make peace with the family rooster! So in honor of my favorite rooster I decided to create this card! And then I decided to do a second one.  I love the fun sketch that Sally created for us to use at SSW2.  It was quick and easy to put together.

This is the inside of my cards!

Well, as you can tell. A Day for Daisies is our sponsor this week at Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2!  Tammy is an incredibly unique artist. I love her work.  I'm sure you will love looking around her store.  I know you will want more than one image....so why not play along with us this week.  You could be our lucky Grand Prize Winner at SSW2 and win 12 free digis from ADFD.  So start creating and have some fun!  Check out all the rules at SSW2!

Hello Baby Giraffe

I have loved this image from the moment I saw it on ADFD.  It is called Hello Baby Giraffe! I am so happy to create with it this week!  I tried something different this time...I have never used the dots around an image but I must say I had so much fun dotting this little giraffe!  I also popped the ear on the first card since it didn't fit inside the deckled frame.  Love the dimension it gave to the card!   I wasn't able to locate any purple pearls so I inked them up to match! I also love using the stitching lines.  I see that it is a little crooked although it isn't as noticeable in real life!  On occasion I like making two cards...partly because I love the paper choices and partly because I like having extra cards available.

Thanks you, Tammy, for creating such a fun image!

My Favorite Flower Pots

I do have to say that this "Favorite Flower Pots" image from A Day for Daisies is definitely one of my favorites. At the moment, it is a freebie at A Day for Daisies.  I enjoy gardening and watching my flowers grow.  However I do have to say that weeding is not one of my favorite things to do.  Needless to say, when I saw this image, it got me in the mood for gardening...so what did I do.  I started the process of cleaning up my flower beds in January.  Usually I don't get started until March but during January we had some incredibly warm and dry days that allowed me to do this.

I hope you enjoy my card.  This ribbon was one of the first ribbons I purchased for crafting.  It is amazing what I am finding in my craft room.   It is velvety and stretchy. I love the white gathers on the edge of the ribbon.  I decided to twist it to give my card some dimension.  I really like the look it produced!  Hope you do too!

This is the sketch we are using this week at Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2.  I hope you will take a few minutes to play along.  This sketch from Sally was quick and easy to create!

Sweet Sketch 184
Sponsor:  A Day for Daisies

Hello everyone!  It's wonderful to play along this week.  I had a friend phone me last week to ask why I hadn't posted anything since October.  Well, I'll be honest....I have been busy, busy, busy vacationing, watching my grand daughter and also working on the Sweet Sketch Wednesday Schedule.  I have also had a two week set back with a cold but I'm much better now and ready to enjoy the holiday season.

The image I used for today's sketch is "Frosty" from A Day for Daisies.  Doesn't it just flood your mind with memories of your childhood making snowmen with your siblings on a snowy wintry day?

This image also reminded me of a Utah Artist, Robert Duncan.  I'm sure you will  recognize his artwork at Robert Duncan Gallery.  These are four prints that I own and I just love them.  So that is why I chose "Frosty" at A Day for Daisies.  Hope you enjoy!

Here is Sketch 184 for this week's challenge.

Thank you, Tammy, for sponsoring us at Sweet Sketch Wednesday this week!  Your images are amazing and always touch that little emotional string in our hearts!
