Rollin Along!

Dearie Dolls has the sweetest free images!  Take a moment and look around Mary Ellen's site. Today I used her Firetruck - Boy Color image.  Quick and easy birthday card for one of my grandsons!

SSW2 Sketch 145

Mary Ellen's Dearie Digis are inspired by the wooden dolls she and her husband Kip made together for 25 years. She likes to tell a little story with each illustration. Some of her favorite subjects are snowmen and children.

A Little Lighthouse and Sweet Stuff

My sister, Arlana, made an adorable shaker card this week for SSW2 and convinced me that I needed to make one also.  Then Arlana also convinced our other sister, Nancy, to make one. This is the first time in a little over a year since we closed the original SSW that we, three sisters, have created together. This is my first try at making a shaker card and I have to say it was quite fun to put together. Thanks, Arlana, for the inspiration!  It's great to see your creations again and to create as sisters!

I was going to make this one into a shaker card but decided that I liked it best as it is!  I added Crystal Effects to the gum ball machine and also the gum and then decided to add the rain drops on the corner of the chevron paper.

Pirate Josh and Parrot
Sweet Sketch 102-43

Ahoy Mate!  I would like to take you away on a pirate's trip.  You might see a creature or two not of your liking!  And at times the sea is not for weak of heart and mind!

Welcome blog friends and followers!  Of course, it is Sweet Sketch Wednesday again!  And I enjoyed creating this Pirate card for you!  You may already know that this is an image from
I always love Sally Ann's images and had to try my hand at creating with this Pirate Josh and Parrot.  With my Copic markers I tried to create a wood deck look on an old pirates ship.  I also had the MS Crab punch that I wanted to incorporate into the card!  So I used some jute to make some rolled up rope with the crab crawling over it!  I punched him out in SU Pumpkin Pie cardstock and inked him up with SU Real Rust and then added Glossy Accents to his shell.  However, when I added the gloss the effect of the Real Rust almost disappeared.  But even with a few bubbles in the gloss it added some dimension to the crab's shell.  Then I figured the old pirate might see a few clams so I added the pearls that might be in his treasure box!
Hope you like it!

Now remember if you play along this week at SSW, you will have a chance to win
