You're the Best

Since I just organized my craft room and I know right where my bird stamps are, I decided I wanted to play with my SU Autumn Days set and see what I could create.  I have always loved this pheasant.  This was just my first try at coloring him and I didn't want to discard him even though it isn't my favorite. I'll have to play a little more. But all in all I had a fun time putting this card together and using more of my tools!

Since Dragonfly Journeys still has the bird challenge going on this week, I will enter my card there. You can enter up to three different cards at Dragonfly Journeys.  I hope you will want to play along.

Have a wonderful week!

Cheep Talk

I have just done a complete reorganization of my craft room and I was amazing at what I have in my craft room that I didn't know I had or I should say I didn't remember that I had.  I also have so many stamp sets that have never even been used so I decided that I would try to start using them on occasion.

The challenge this week at Dragonfly Journeys is to create something with Birds!  So I found my
SU Cheep Talk Stamp Set and decided to use it.

I should have come up with a cheep sentiment but it came with this sentiment and I am always in need of Thank You notes.

I have to say that after using digis for 6 years I feel a little out of sorts using stamps and trying to place them where they need to be.  That is why the red cardinal is almost landing!  LOL!!!

Today I was needing a sympathy card and remembered I had pinned a card I loved from Pinterest a few weeks back.  This is my version...very, very similar to Karen's.  I knew I had the stamp set and that it would come together very quickly.  Thanks, Karen, for the wonderful idea and beautiful card!

Scalloped Tag Topper Card
and Nugget Purse

It has been a while since I have had an opportunity to look at a StampinUp Catalog, but when I did I fell in love with this Scallop Tag Topper and a few other items.  Well, I'll confess, I ended up having basically my own party.

I love how this card ties together with a bow.  I didn't put a sentiment on the card as I thought I could use it for almost any event.  The flower die is Tim Holz Tattered Flower Garland.  The cardstock is StampinUp,
Coastal Cabana.  Not sure about the DP but I think I purchased it at Michael's.

These little purses hold two Chocolate Nuggets.  Perfect for a sweet little gift for anyone!

If you would like to know how to make these two items and other items, visit here, QBeeQuest.blogspot.com

I loved using the Stickles and glitter on this card. It really made the images come alive. Seems like I always need a wedding card, so I will be excited to use this one. Thanks for visiting my blog.
Now go and create you own Sweet Sketch 6 and post on Mr. Linky on Sweet Sketch Wednesday.

A Prayer for You -- Sweet Sketch 5

This week I chose to make a sympathy card for a family who lost one of their twin daughters in a tragic automobile accident in Utah when an 800 pound elk jumped in front of their daughter's car. Three of their other children were also in the car. A blessing the others were not seriously hurt. I’m sure their loss is a difficult one. She is a very sweet young woman. Our prayers are for her family as they morn the loss of their sweet daughter.

This was a great sketch again. I loved using the Suzzix Scallop Oval…first time use. I found this butterfly stamp at Michaels and fell in love with it. It is a little smaller than the Stampinup butterfly that looks similar so that is why I purchased it. The Kiwi Embroidery Paper is treeless paper but has a wonderful texture and weight to it. I purchased it (the stripe) at JoAnn’s.

Sweet Sketch 5

If you haven’t participated yet in the Sweet Sketch Wednesday be sure to take the opportunity this week to be a part of the fun. Also take time to check out the Design Team Blogs on the side of Sweet Sketch Wednesday. It’s fun to see all the creativity.

Silhouettes of the Past:
Happy Birthday, Mom!

For Memorial Day both of my sisters posted a card for our mother. So I decided to follow. I couldn't miss the opportunity to post a comment about my mother. Check my sisters blogs for their cards. Sweetberry Designs and Mulberry Station.

I am using the AMYRS3 Sketch for the week.

I chose the SU Pocket Silhouette stamp because it reminds me of my mother's garden. She always had a beautiful yard and flower garden. I loved walking through her garden with her and watching the butterflies come to her flowers. She always worked so hard. She was up at 5 a.m. doing her work so that she could enjoy the rest of the day with her family whether is was working on another project or spending an afternoon shopping with us. I loved to shop with her because she always found the best deals.

The lace doily punch reminds me of all the sewing my mother used to do. She would stay up late at night making matching dresses for her three girls. It was so fun to wake up in the morning and have a new dress for Easter or Christmas.

I chose the polka dot paper and ribbon because Mom loved polka dots. I will always remember her in her darling black dress with white polka dots. She looked so beautiful in that dress. She was very fashion conscious and always wore the most adorable clothes.

Mom's birthday is June 2. If she were still living, she would be 87. This card is a tribute to her for all that she did for our family. We love and miss you, Mom.

Thank you, Mom, for all the beautiful silhouettes of the past.

Best Blossoms

This is one of my first Stampin Up sets which I have never used. So I decided I wanted to create a card with it. I was pleased with the results. However, the flower petals were first stamped on white card stock and I instantly knew that it needed to be stamped on the So Saffron cardstock. Waa..Laa....a remarkable improvement......

This is my first posting so I am learning many new skills. But I am looking forward to sharing some of my designs.
