You are the Best!

The moment I saw the rooster and hen images at ADFD I knew that I wanted to use one of them.  I grew up on a farm and at times had the responsibility of gathering eggs from the hen house.  I enjoyed getting the eggs, that is...until the ROOSTER would start chasing and pecking me to get away from his harem.  Despite his meanness, I always enjoyed his beautiful colors especially the turquoise feathers. I think I will make peace with the family rooster! So in honor of my favorite rooster I decided to create this card! And then I decided to do a second one.  I love the fun sketch that Sally created for us to use at SSW2.  It was quick and easy to put together.

This is the inside of my cards!

Well, as you can tell. A Day for Daisies is our sponsor this week at Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2!  Tammy is an incredibly unique artist. I love her work.  I'm sure you will love looking around her store.  I know you will want more than one image....so why not play along with us this week.  You could be our lucky Grand Prize Winner at SSW2 and win 12 free digis from ADFD.  So start creating and have some fun!  Check out all the rules at SSW2!

A Day For Daisies began as a small token to a constant need to create. Pairing a love of whimsical illustration, with a tidy graphic design background, Tammy S Thompson, produced her first stamp designs, introducing irresistibly sweet stamps to crafters around the globe. Drawing inspiration from the beautiful world around us, she strives to express the happiness and gratitude she feels in each stamp design she creates.
Presently, A Day For Daisies has grown to over 3,000 Digital Stamps with a quickly expanding line of Best Loved Clear Polymer. A Day For Daisies has been published and awarded over the years for innovative and unique designs created to inspire the crafting community. With a whole team behind her now, she remains passionate about illustration, obsessed with quality, and dedicated to her customers. A Day For Daisies thanks you for your ideas, comments, and creativity!

This is the sketch for this week's challenge!

Jeannie at Dragonfly Journeys also has a sweet color challenge this week.  I added my rooster to her challenge.  Each Sunday Jeannie has a new challenge.  I hope you will check it out and play along too!  Jeannie is a former SSW DT.  She makes gorgeous cards...You will love her creations too!

You're the Best

Since I just organized my craft room and I know right where my bird stamps are, I decided I wanted to play with my SU Autumn Days set and see what I could create.  I have always loved this pheasant.  This was just my first try at coloring him and I didn't want to discard him even though it isn't my favorite. I'll have to play a little more. But all in all I had a fun time putting this card together and using more of my tools!

Since Dragonfly Journeys still has the bird challenge going on this week, I will enter my card there. You can enter up to three different cards at Dragonfly Journeys.  I hope you will want to play along.

Have a wonderful week!

Bugaboo Photo Inspired Challenge

I have to say the photo below instills some real nostalgia in me.
It reminds me of my father.
In fact this garden looks much like my father's farm in Utah.
This photo is called
A Bunch of Carrots by Robert Duncan,
an artist who lives in Midway, Utah.
The mountain range in this photo is part of the Wasatch front.
It looks just like the portion of the range that I have viewed my entire life.

A Bunch of Carrots
 Robert Duncan

I have used the colors in this photo to create my card.
I do not have a garden like my father's so
I chose the Bugaboo birdhouses image because I love the
chickadees, titmouse, finch, grosbeak and hummingbirds
that come to my feeders during the year.

I wanted to use my Sizzix Top Note and SU Butterfly Wings;
therefore, my creation began from these parameters
along with this photo inspiration.

This is my last week to create with the Bugaboo DT.
I just want to say thank you to everyone at Bugaboo and
to all of you who have come to visit!

Thanks for the privilege of being
Bugaboo's Biggest Fan for April 2015!

Hope you will remember to take some time to play along at
Bugaboo's Catch the Bug.

My flower and leaves are made from the Cuttlebug Quilling Chrysanthemum Kit. Again I only used two of the three plates to create the flower.  I inked the edges of the leaves to give some dimension along with giving them a twist.  I added stickles to the "I" in SPRING.  But more is not better!  As you can see the "I" isn't really visable. While it was wet I actually move the glitter away from the "I" but it must have migrated back! I also added the tiny butterfly with some added stickles from the SU Butterfly Emboss Plate.   It was the perfect size.

Oh I almost forgot, I was looking through my stash of treasures that Arlana gave to me...and I couldn't believe that I had two ladybugs in the two colors that matched this card!
Have you ever seen a pink or teal ladybug?????
Thanks for stopping by!  I love your sweet comments!  Have a great week and try to stay warm!

Sweet Sketch 15 and Sweet Sketch Double Take
Sweet Sketch Wednesday

This week is the Fifteenth Week at Sweet Sketch Wednesday. We are doing two sketches this week...so take a few moments and head over to Sweet Sketch Wednesday to see what the Design Team has created...You will be inspired to create your own cards this week. If you play play either sketch, you may be one of the lucky winners as our sponsor this week is The Cutting Cafe. As a winner you will be able to choose three stamps sets from The Cutting Cafe. Check out all the details at Sweet Sketch Wednesday.
Birds of a feather flock together...

I had so much fun creating this card. When I purchased the bird stamps, I knew I wanted to create a beach card. For the past 32 years our family has enjoyed the beauty of Cannon Beach in Oregon. The only thing this card is missing is Haystack Rock and all the critters that are found there. I was able to locate a baby sand dollar from our adventures and added it to the card. The birds have been stickled to add some sparkly dimension. When I found the blue stripe paper in my stash, I thought it might look like the ocean. The tan paper has a very granual look and has various specks so I thought it was a good choice to replicate the sand.

Below is a closer view of the birds...

Don't forget to look at the Double Take, too!

Regina at The Cutting Cafe is our sponsor this week. Check out her site and view her digi stamps. I love Halloween so I chose the Ekk, Ekk, Ekk, Ekk Spider and the Happy Halloween sentiment. I'm not sure why I chose the spider...because I hate spiders...I think this one looks too real! But I suppose that is what makes Halloween scary. I loved using my new Martha Stewart Spider Web border punch.
I have two versions of this card. Tell me which one you like! The stamped image included the Ekk, Ekk, Ekk, Ekk web. I added orange stickle to the spider's eyes.

Happy Halloween Supplies:
Stamp: The Cutting Cafe: Halloween This and That
Paper: SU Pumpkin Pie, Green Galore, Black, My Mind's Eye Boo! To You "Fright Night" Paper, Bo Bunny's Back to Backs
Embellishments: MS Spider Webs, Ribbon, SU Modern Label
Hope you have a great week. Thanks for all the wonderful comments.

Sweet Sketch Wednesday
Sweet Sketch 7 Color Challenge
Happy Day!

This card was made for Sweet Sketch Wednesday. We are in our 7th week of sketches. Sweet Sketch 7 is also a color challenge. If you haven’t participated, this is a great time to start. We have lots of fun at Sweet Sketch Wednesday and would love to have you join in.

I had so much fun with this color challenge and also finding the stamp to make it fit the flower and leaf theme. Then I had to throw in the circle paper to accent the circle flower pattern. The paper I stamped the birds on reminds me of the early morning sun coming through the branches and leaves of the tree with the birds still silhouetted. Hope you get the same feeling.

Supplies:
Stamps: Inkadinkado Birds,
Paper: Me & My BIG Ideas Specialty Cardstock=flower, TPC Studio Grass GreenD-Stress, DCWV Fun in the Sun=Orange Circles, K & Company Citronella=green leaves, atd Vibrant Hidden Hues=green paper, SU pumpkin pie, pink passion
Ink: SU Pink Passion, Kiwi Kiss, Pumpkin Pie
Embellishments: SU Scallop Edge Punch, Large Oval Punch, Scallop Oval Punch, Ribbon, Flowers, Brad, sponge daubers, Happy Day! Printed from computer.

Thanks for all your wonderful comments! Have a great week. It's suppose to be 101 degrees here in the northwest this week so I hope I survive without air conditioning....that temperature is extremely unusual for us.
