Sweet Sketch 15 and Sweet Sketch Double Take
Sweet Sketch Wednesday

This week is the Fifteenth Week at Sweet Sketch Wednesday. We are doing two sketches this week...so take a few moments and head over to Sweet Sketch Wednesday to see what the Design Team has created...You will be inspired to create your own cards this week. If you play play either sketch, you may be one of the lucky winners as our sponsor this week is The Cutting Cafe. As a winner you will be able to choose three stamps sets from The Cutting Cafe. Check out all the details at Sweet Sketch Wednesday.
Birds of a feather flock together...

I had so much fun creating this card. When I purchased the bird stamps, I knew I wanted to create a beach card. For the past 32 years our family has enjoyed the beauty of Cannon Beach in Oregon. The only thing this card is missing is Haystack Rock and all the critters that are found there. I was able to locate a baby sand dollar from our adventures and added it to the card. The birds have been stickled to add some sparkly dimension. When I found the blue stripe paper in my stash, I thought it might look like the ocean. The tan paper has a very granual look and has various specks so I thought it was a good choice to replicate the sand.

Below is a closer view of the birds...

Don't forget to look at the Double Take, too!

Regina at The Cutting Cafe is our sponsor this week. Check out her site and view her digi stamps. I love Halloween so I chose the Ekk, Ekk, Ekk, Ekk Spider and the Happy Halloween sentiment. I'm not sure why I chose the spider...because I hate spiders...I think this one looks too real! But I suppose that is what makes Halloween scary. I loved using my new Martha Stewart Spider Web border punch.
I have two versions of this card. Tell me which one you like! The stamped image included the Ekk, Ekk, Ekk, Ekk web. I added orange stickle to the spider's eyes.

Happy Halloween Supplies:
Stamp: The Cutting Cafe: Halloween This and That
Paper: SU Pumpkin Pie, Green Galore, Black, My Mind's Eye Boo! To You "Fright Night" Paper, Bo Bunny's Back to Backs
Embellishments: MS Spider Webs, Ribbon, SU Modern Label
Hope you have a great week. Thanks for all the wonderful comments.

Your Day!
Sweet Sketch 14
Sweet Sketch Wednesday

Update:  When I created this card I only had about three copics...no flesh colors!  So I quickly colored in the flesh on this little bride to give her some color.

This week Digi Shack is our sponsor at Sweet Sketch Wednesday. I choose this Lani Bride stamp. What a sweet bride! You will want to check out their other digi stamps....oh, so cute. TDS is offering a prize this week for the best card...so I think you will want to play along. Check out all the details for posting your card on Sweet Sketch Wednesday.
I am new at using my Copics but I am learning as I view other cards. It definitely looks like I need a flesh color. I do have some E's but they were the wrong shade in my opinion so I opted to not color her skin. Also next time I would blush her cheeks and use rhinestones for her jewelry instead of the stickles.
But even with my few omissions, she is a beautiful bride!!! Hope you enjoy her too!

Your Day Supplies:

Stamp: Digi Shack Lani Bride

Paper: Basic Grey Uptown, Paper Pizazz Pink Salt, DCWV Brights Mat Stack, Paper Company Double Sided Bright Pink, SU Pink Passion

Ink: SU Pink Passion, Copics: B21, YG03, RV11, RV14, Y21

Embellishments: MS Lace Doily, Ribbon, Brads, Star Dust Stickles, Cuttlebug Swiss Dots, Cricut Scallop Circle, MS Circle Cutter, SU Oval punch

Sweet Sketch Wednesday
Sweet Sketch 13Spooky Nights

Wow, it is Sweet Sketch Wednesday again and there's lots of excitement there this week. We have our first sponsor, Inktegrity! So my second card is made with Joni's new digi stamps. This was a first for me and was an exciting adventure to try a new technique. Be sure to take a few minutes and check things out at Sweet Sketch Wednesday. Inktegrity is offering a prize this week and you could be the winner!!! How fun is that! You may also want to check out Joni's blog at Inktegrity.blogspot.com. She has featured the work of many DT members at various blogs. Hope you enjoy checking it out.

I am really getting into the "Halloween Mood" lately. So it was fun to make the above card. It was my first time using my picket fence and I always love using my QuicKuts! Hope you enjoy my card too.
Thanks so much for your sweet comments the past few weeks. Things are still rather hectic here. Our roof is almost complete....hopefully by this evening, as we are getting a week long stretch of rain starting tomorrow and we already got rained out last Friday evening when we tore off our roof. Not too much damage but isn't that the way it always happens.

With all the doctors appointments and hospitalization for my FIL this past week and the roof project, I was very slow in checking out everyone's cards...so please forgive me!!! But I loved looking at all your new cards and creations!

Thanks for Being a Lifesaver! by Inktegrity

I loved using this new digi stamp from Inktegrity. Thank, Joni. I added the seagull stamp to it. I was also able to try out my new Copic pens and also my new nestibilities....what fun!!! Thanks, Sheri, for your help. I couldn't have done it without you! I do love the embossed look of the nestibilities!

I just discovered that Heidi Grace has a new store in Tacoma near Point Definance Park. I spoke with her yesterday. They also tore off the store roof last Friday and were rained out. I do have empathy! Well, we have something in common. I am excited to meet Heidi and see her new store and products. I'll give you an update next week. This weekend she is actually having a Sidewalk Sale of her scrapbook products....so that should be fun!!! I'm sure I'll find something I need!!!!

Flowers in Bloom
Sweet Sketch 12
Color Challenge

The past two weeks have been filled with lots of activities as I traveled to Utah to be with Arlana and Nancy and also to be with my father. It was only the third time that Nancy, Arlana and I have been together since the passing of our mother 4 1/2 years ago. We had a wonderful time. However, the time passed way to quickly when Nancy had to return home. I was able to stay another 6 days with Arlana and Dad. But Arlana came down with a terrible sinus infection. She is a real trooper as we stayed up crafting until the wee hours of the night....which didn't help her any!!! But we still enjoyed the crafting. She will post some of our creations later on.
I came home to a torn up house. We are reroofing and adding a new porch. We have in house gutters so they are being cut off and changed to the traditional gutters.... A major project to say the least.
I am a caregiver to my father in law and yesterday turned into a full day at the hospital so a lot is happening at this end.
I have not had time this past two weeks to even comment on the blogs...so forgive me.
I will try to get back on track this week!
This card was designed for Sweet Sketch Wednesday. This was a fun card. I was wanting to color in a stamped image but I only had SU pens. Since my trip to Utah...I am now a proud owner of numerous Copics so I will be happen to try them out on future cards but you won't be seeing any of them for some time as I have finished my sketches through Sketch 20.
Anyway, I still had fun trying to color the stamped image. Although I can tell that the Copics color much nicer.
Take a few minutes to view all the cards for Sweet Sketch 12 on Sweet Sketch Wednesday. Better yet, create your own card for Sweet Sketch 12 and post it on the Sweet Sketch Wednesday site. Remember it is a color challenge too! Hope you will play along!
Thanks for your comments! Have a great week!

Check out their sites here and here. I also wasn't going to do the butterflies on the side but I found these butterflies at the Dollar Tree and couldn't pass them up. Well, I just want to thank Hollie aka Momiji at Momiji's Madness for nominating me for Kreativ Blogger. What a surprise as I am new to blogging myself!. It has actually taken me over a week just to find time to post my thank you!
Rules:
1. Thank the person who nominated you for this award.

2. Copy the logo and place it on your blog.

3. Link the person's blog who nominated you for this award.

4. Name 7 things about yourself that people might find interesting.

5. Nominate 7 Kreative Bloggers.

6. Post a link to the 7 you nominated.

7. Leave a comment on each of the blogs to let them know they have been nominated.

Seven thing that people might find intersting about me!

Well hummm, that will be interesting!!!

Here goes:

1. I have two wonderful and very talented sisters, Nancy and Arlana. Check out Nancy's blog at Mulberry Station. And Check out Arlana's blog at Sweetberry Designs.

2. My sister, Arlana, is the site owner of the new sketch site at Sweet Sketch Wednesday. Be sure to check her blog out and play along.

3. I have had 5 foot surgeries just two and half years ago.....

4. The fourth surgery was self inflicted...I fractured the surgery just five days after the surgery and had to have it redone. Two surgeries were bunionectomies and the other two were for screw removals.

5. I now walk 4-8 miles a day and love being able to walk pain free. I would do it all over again!!!

6. I have been a caregiver for 17 years....currently caring for my father-in-law.

7. I just rediscovered that I can still Hola Hoop!!!!! From my neck down to my ankles!!!! Are you impressed!!! I was!! I have been trying to teach my grand daughter how to hola hoop!

I am very, very new to the blogging world so the people I know are very limited...although incredible talented. The people I would like to nominate come from my Arlana's Design Team at Sweet Sketch Wednesday....they are:

1. My sister, Arlana, as she was the one who got me into paper crafting. I will always remember picking up the Xyron 150 and saying...."What is this?" She replied, "a sticker maker." I thought to myself...."who would want to make a sticker!!!" Four Xyrons later....The rest is history!!! Arlana is incredibly talented and has been since she was three years old. I have always called her the "Craft Queen." She can make magic out of anything!!! Arlana has already been nominated by Hollie and I know she is terrible busy and will not have time to respond but I still want to nominate her again. She deserves it!!

2. My other sister, Nancy, who is also extremely talented. Nancy is very artistic and I think it still shows in her paper crafting. She can draw anything! As a youth, I was always so jealous of her talent...only that I wished I had that talent too. Now as sisters we just have a blast creating together. She also makes beautiful wedding cakes and the best taking too!!!

3. Liz is another person I want to nominate. I am always amazed at her ability to create so many cards without using stamps! Thanks for sharing your talent with us at SSW. I still follow your blog.

4. Sheri has also been an inspiration to me. I love her clean style and use of borders, nestabilities and embossing folders.

5. I love Teri's signature punch flowers that she uses. Her talent is never ending also. Love her toppers!

6. Pam's cards are also such an inspiration to me...I am always amazed at the variety of cards that Pam comes up with. She has such cute stamps!

7. I also love Jeannie's cards. They are so fresh and fun.

Thanks ladies for all your inspiration to me! So when you see your designs on my cards...take it as a compliment!!!! It's been great getting acquainted with you! I could have included the entire SSW Design Team but I figure you will eventually be nominated too!!!

A Sunflower Day
Sweet Sketch Wednesday
Sweet Sketch 9

Hope you are having a sunny day. This past week we had a record breaking heat wave...104 degrees. Any where else in the US it wouldn't have been a problem but in the Pacific Northwest many of us do not have air conditioners as we usually only get a few days each summer that are in the 90's....but with a week long in the high 90's, it was hard to get the house cooled down at night. But I am not complaining as we had an usually cold Spring which I did complain about. Now it looks like we are back to normal temps....50's at night and 70-80 during the day!!! Perfect for excercising, gardening, etc.
Well, I created this card for my sister's new sketch site.....Sweet Sketch Wednesday. This week is Sweet Sketch 9. We are having so much fun creating cards for Sweet Sketch Wednesday. You will want to take a few minutes to visit and see all the fun cards that have been created during the past 9 weeks. We have such a fantastic Design Team...they are sooooo creative. I just love waking up on Wednesday morning to see all the fun cards that everyone has designed. Then I love watching to see who will play along and what their cards will look like. So make sure you are one of them.
I had so much fun creating this card. I found this wonderful Basic Grey Sunflower dollar stamp at an independant craft store in Tacoma. I'm just getting started with coloring-in stamps...wish I had the Copics but I probably will begin to invest on one of my trips to Utah when I can get a good special or use some coupons. I loved adding the Quickuts Sunflower to this card. Hope it reminds you of those Indian Summer Days....which in case you don't know...is a nice warm or hot fall day....I know they are just around the corner for us. In the Northwest we long for Indian
Summer Days to extend our short summers.

Supplies:
Stamps: Basic Grey Sunflower, Clear Mini Stamp for saying
Paper: DCWV Nana’s Nursery Baby Boy, SU Summer Sun, Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie
Ink: SU Summer Sun, Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie
Embellishment: QuicKutz Sunflower, Ribbon, Brads
Thanks for stopping by. I love reading your comments or suggestions! Be sure to play along with Sweet Sketch Wednesday this week and tell all your card blogging friends to play also.

Flowers for You -- Sweet Sketch 8

This card was created for Sweet Sketch Wednesday. This is Sweet Sketch 8. When I found this Dollar stamp I knew that it would go well with the Far East Stack. I have been eyeing the MS Zig Zag for the past 6 months but didn't fall in love with it until I saw Sheri, a Design Team Member of Sweet Sketch Wednesday, use it on one of her cards. I thought the sharp zig zag would minmick the fans. I picked up two packages of buttons on a 50 cent clearance. One package just happened to have the right color for this card!

Arlana has such a great Design Team for Sweet Sketch Wednesday. Even though I am a DT member...Wednesday morning is always a special treat for me. It feels like Christmas or a birthday celebration...I love seeing the new cards unveiled each Wednesday morning. Then it's like having a week long extended birthday each time I visit the blogs of those who are participating for the week.

Take a few minutes and visit our Design Team. You will love their creativity. If you wish you can go to Sweet Sketch Wednesday and click on each Design Team Member on the right side bar or just click on the names below.

Sweet Sketch Wednesday
Sweet Sketch 7 Color Challenge
Happy Day!

This card was made for Sweet Sketch Wednesday. We are in our 7th week of sketches. Sweet Sketch 7 is also a color challenge. If you haven’t participated, this is a great time to start. We have lots of fun at Sweet Sketch Wednesday and would love to have you join in.

I had so much fun with this color challenge and also finding the stamp to make it fit the flower and leaf theme. Then I had to throw in the circle paper to accent the circle flower pattern. The paper I stamped the birds on reminds me of the early morning sun coming through the branches and leaves of the tree with the birds still silhouetted. Hope you get the same feeling.

Supplies:
Stamps: Inkadinkado Birds,
Paper: Me & My BIG Ideas Specialty Cardstock=flower, TPC Studio Grass GreenD-Stress, DCWV Fun in the Sun=Orange Circles, K & Company Citronella=green leaves, atd Vibrant Hidden Hues=green paper, SU pumpkin pie, pink passion
Ink: SU Pink Passion, Kiwi Kiss, Pumpkin Pie
Embellishments: SU Scallop Edge Punch, Large Oval Punch, Scallop Oval Punch, Ribbon, Flowers, Brad, sponge daubers, Happy Day! Printed from computer.

Thanks for all your wonderful comments! Have a great week. It's suppose to be 101 degrees here in the northwest this week so I hope I survive without air conditioning....that temperature is extremely unusual for us.
