Golf Nut
Sweet Sketch 86
Sponsor:  Bugaboo Stamps

This is the perfect image for my golfing husband!  Thought I would surprise him with this fun golfing card!  I used the Cuttlebug Mesh Embossing Folder to create the golf balls.  I thought it turned out to be a fairly good replica.  What do you think?
I also thought that MME paper looks like a million golf balls perched on their golf tees!
Well, that's a little stretch of the imagination!
He's a happy golfer anyway!

Bugaboo Stamps is our sponsor this week at SSW.  I always love to look around Jodie's shop and choose a fun image to create with.  I love her artist style.  You will too so be sure to stop by  her shop!  If you are the Grand Prize Winner at SSW this week you will receive
7 free digis valued at $21

This is Arlana's sweet sketch for this week's challenge.

Stop by SSW to see what our DT members have created for you!

Cheese Bread

While I was in Utah last week, Arlana and Randy, made some wonderful Stuffed Philly Sandwiches.
Yum, yum!
Well, I loved the recipe so much, I will be making it for my family in the coming weeks or days!
For Sunday dinner today, we had Rib Eye Steak so I decided to use the dough from Arlana's recipe and make a braided cheese loaf.  I was making salads so the bread browned a little darker than I like but it was still very soft and oh so yummy inside.

Very easy to make...you don't need a bread mixer...just a large mixing bowl.
Cheese Bread
3 1/4 cups flour
1/4 cup sugar
1 pkg yeast
1 1/2 tsp salt
1 T wheat gluten
2 T Mrs. Dash
(I didn't have Mrs. Dash so I used 1/2 tsp oregano, 1/2 tsp basil, 1/2 tsp rosemary, 1/2 tsps garlic salt)
1/4 cup butter
3/4 cup water
1/4 milk
2 eggs, beaten

In a bowl, mix 2 cups flour, sugar, yeast, wheat gluten, and Mrs. Dash together.  Set aside.  Heat butter, water and milk just until the butter is melter.  Remove from heat, cool slightly.  Add eggs and liquid mixture together.

Add liquid to the flour mixture and stir together.  Add another cup of flour and mix together.  Then add just a little more flour until it is no longer too sticky.  Then sprinkle olive oil on your dough and a little around the bowl. Cover with a light weight dish towel.  Let dough rise double in size in a warm location or in a 100 degree oven or less.  Punch down and roll out into a retangle. Sprinkle grated cheese lengthwise down the middle of the dough.  Cut slits on both sides of the cheese for braiding.

I should have taken pictures of this....sorry!

Bake 375 degree for 17-21 minutes.  Enjoy!

Well, I surprised my men as they are always asking me lately to try new recipes...Well, I not only tried a new recipe but I altered it and made it  my own.  Hopefully, that will keep them satisfied for a few weeks.

One of my favorite memories from each Christmas is receiving Christmas cards from friends and family.  I have always had the tradition of posting our Christmas cards on the inside of our front door... so I decided that I wanted to take a picture of it for you and also as a memory for me!  My cards are the last to go down.  I usually keep them up for a month after Christmas! Sounds crazy but I just love to enjoy them a little longer!  And sometimes there are a few more cards to add to the collage. The Tin Soldiers and the Mistletoe doll will be put away this week with the rest of the decorations.

Several weeks before Christmas I received this surprise package in the mail.  Inside was this gorgeous Christmas card from Linda, one of our dear DT members at Sweet Sketch Wedneday along with the Cuttlebug Sledding Embossing Folder that I had been wanting to purchase but couldn't find at any craft store.   Instead of the embossing being raised, it is indented.  I love the look it gives!

Thanks you, Linda, for your beautfiul card and your thoughtful gift!

Happy Undecorating!

Sure miss her!  I had better stop there as I am getting quite teary thinking about her!

Arlana has provided us with a great sketch this week! I know you will enjoy creating with it!

The name of the song is "In the Leafy Treetops." This is the second verse.

"In my pretty garden, the flowers are nodding.
How do you do?, they say.  How do you do today?
In my pretty garden the flowers are nodding."

Anyway!

Shepherds' Delight
Sweet Sketch 78

Wow, can you believe that Christmas is just around the corner!  This year has flown by for me and I think I am not ready for Christmas.  It feels like it should be in about 6 more months!  Remember when you were a kid and the days of the year passed so slowly....seemed like it was forever before Christmas arrived!

Well, I have been trying to get in the spirit with my Christmas cards!  I do have to say that it does help.  I loved this image from Di's Digi Downloads...such a precious image of the shepherds in their fields watching their flocks and viewing that bright star that foretold of the birth of Christ!   It is called Shepherds' Delight.
Oh, I have been wanting to use my Ribbon Tags and was happy when Nancy used her's a few weeks ago with the ribbon ends instead of running the ribbon across the card!  Thanks, Nancy!
It makes a great sentiment!

is our sponsor this week at
and our DT as created some awesome cards for you to enjoy!
is offering a very sweet, sweet prize of
5 free digis
So be sure to play along this week with Arlana's wonderful sketch!
All the rules are on the SSW site but be sure to follow the sketch and all the basic elements of it.  The three flowers do not have to be flowers...but just three elements that may go with your card!

Have fun creating!
We love to see what you can do!
