Gobble Gobble
Sweet Sketch 69
Sponsor: Sweet 'n Sassy

Gobble Gobble!!! I know it is only September but Thanksgiving is just around the corner for us here in the US! I will tell you straight up...it is a big work day for Moms!!!! Now I have four children....all grown but not all married. I am looking forward to the day when they will all contribute to the fixins'. Just cooking the turkey would be the easy part for me. But I usually start two or three days ahead by making rolls and pies, cranberry sauce and salads. Well, I have a new double oven this year...so why am I complaining... I have tried to buy rolls and pies but I get all kinds of complaints from my children because the rolls and pies are a tradition...and when you start a tradition you can't change it.... The problem was that... I didn't know it had become a tradition!

This little turkey is called Templeton Turkey. He is from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps. They are our sponsor this week at SSW! Yes, their images are sweet 'n sassy! So be sure to look around their site. Sweet 'n Sassy is offering a very Sweet 'n Sassy prize of a

$10 Gift Certificate

This is a rub on also from Heidi Grace. It was perfect for my card! Thanks, Heidi. I had the opportunity of meeting Heidi last year. Didn't know she lived in my area. So when I found out she had a little shop, I stopped by and purchased some fun items. Twice I have bumped into her at JoAnn's. She has since closed her little store due to the arrival of her third baby! Not sure if her little one has arrived yet but I do wish her well. What a sweet and talented lady and Mom!

Mouse In the House and Baby and Bunny
Sweet Sketch 64

This week I am not able to go for my daily hike around the golf course as we are having the 110th US Amateur Championship at Chambers Bay Golf Course. I will really miss my daily hike but will spend more time walking the streets and going to the gym. Here is a link to photos of our course. Wait a few seconds and it will give you a quick slide show of the course. The Course is right on the Puget Sound. The hardest park of the hike is up through the fir trees on the far right side of the course. After more than three years, I keep thinking it will get easier but it doesn't. It is just a good workout for this body! Now can you see why I savor my morning hike! It is a 3 1/2 mile trail around the course.

If you are interested in brocasting times

Aug 25 Golf Channel 3:30-5:30 p.m.EDT
Aug 26 Golf Channel 3:30-5:30 p.m. EDT
Aug 27 Golf Channel 10:00 a.m. -Noon EDT
Aug 28 NBC 1-3 p.m. EDT
Aug 29 NBC 1-3 EDT
Aug 28 is a taped delay

Well, that is probably more than you wanted to know! But I mostly wanted you to see how beautiful the Puget Sound is.

Today I have three cards to showcase. I never have time to make three cards but I had some relaxing time at Arlana's last month. I love this sketch. My favorite part is the border. I could have cut out borders all day long!

Arlana's Sweet Sketch 64
Our sponsor this week is Digi Stamp Character. Thank you Heather, for creating such fun images and for sponsoring us this week. Digi Stamp Characters is offering 3 free digis to the winner of the week. So why don't you play along and you could be the lucky winner! Go ahead and drooling over the three images you are wanting!

My Recipe:
Image: Digi Stamp Characters: MITH Wheelbarrow
Papers: Cosmo Cricket: Little Girls Secrets, Red, Blue, SU Pear Pizzaz
Ink: Copics and Promarkers
Tools and Embellishments: Nestabilities Large Classic Square, SU Border Punch, Ribbon, Flowers, Brad, Rhinestones
My Second Card

I just love this baby image! That little stuffed bunny is too cute!

My Recipe:

Image: Digi Stamp Characters: Baby
Papers: Paper Pizazz: Hot Off the Press Yellow Daisies, Plaid?, DCWV Cardstock
Ink: Copics and Promarkers
Tools and Embellishments: Nestabilities Large Classic Square, MS Border Punch, Flowers, Pearls

My Mistake but I had to finish it!

This card is a slight deviation from the Sweet Sketch 63. I acutally made the square for the image too small as the ribbon was suppose to lay across the bottom of the square. I was still happy with the results. The flowers are from Michael's Dollar Bin. It includes the flowers and the little jewels...packaged in Red, Yellow and Pink! Arlana found these and she was going to split them for us. So I ran to my Michaels to make sure Nancy, Arlana and I had all three packages. Nancy, now you know! You have three packages waiting for you at Arlana's.

Instead of putting jewels on the flowers in the wheelbarrow, I dotted the centers of the red flowers with Stickles.

My Recipe:

Image: Digi Stamp Characters: MITH Wheelbarrow
Papers: Cosmo Cricket: Early Bird: Apron Strings, SU Kiwi Kiss,
Ink: Copics and Promarkers
Tools and Embellishments: Nestabilites Large Classic Square, Stickles, Rhinestine. Flowers and jewel, Stickles

It's A Girl!
Sweet Sketch 61Sweet Sketch Wednesday
Sponsor: Pixie Dust Studio

This fun little "White Rabbit" from Pixie Dust Studio's Down the Rabbit Hole Collection brings back fond memories of Alice in Wonderland. But when I saw this image is was screaming a baby card to me! I could just see him announcing the arrival of our third grandchild which is a girl. I had so much fun dressing him up for the occassion! I chose blue for his main outfit because I figured he has to announce the arrival of boys along with the girls....but I dressed him for this special occassion with a pink bow and pink shoes. I added stickles to his pants, neck and cuffs, and also on the little hearts. I added a little rhinestone on his bow and Crystal Effects to make his horn shiny! Last but not least the brads needed a little sparkle so I added stickles to each of them! There you have it! He's ready to toot his horn! September 25 is the due date!
Well, you will need another important part of the recipe...
this awesome sketch by Arlana at SSW! I have already had a sneak peak at the line up of cards for this week. We have 6 fabulous images that our DT has created with. You will love every one of them. They are all spectacular!

Please take a moment and look around at the awesome images at Pixie Dust Studio. They have sponsored us once before and it seems like I always have the hardest time choosing which image to create with. Go ahead just try to elimate your likings to just two! And if you are lucky enough you will be the winner of your two favorite images this week when you play along at SSW!

Go ahead....start creating!

Thanks Pixie Dust Studio for your sweet image!

A Fish Ahoy!
Sweet Sketch 61

Hello Everyone!
Arlana has such a sweet sketch this week! You will love creating with this one! I did! I found these fun papers at a small independent craft store here in Tacoma called "Scrap That!"
I also found these cute turquoise droplets that I thought would give a great water effect! For my three elements on the left side of the sketch, I used the tackle basket and two fish!....Well, it kind of works! I also added some jute to the fishing pole.
The fishing gear is from Arlana stash in her craft room! I really should take pictures and give you a sneak peak of her room. I do believe that there in not another person who has a craft room like hers. I am like a little kid in a candy store when I visit! Here craft room is over a three car garage with an additional large storage room and three closets for storage! She has four banquet tables set up for classes plus her work station but would you believe that Arlana, Nancy and I completely feel up all the table space when we are crafting!
I just love this image from Di's Digi Downloads. It is called "A Fish Ahoy." I added stickles to the fish and crystal effect to the bobber! I just love Diane's images. Di's Digi Downloads is our sponsor this week. I know you will have the greatest delight as you look around her shop. Diane is offering 5 free digis to our weekly winner. That could be you!!!! So stop over to SSW and check out all the fun eye candy from our DT showing off some of those sweet images from Di's Digi Downloads.

Stork Delivery
Sweet Sketch 60

We are so thrilled to have Shirley's 2 Girls again for our sponsor at Sweet Sketch Wednesday. Kristine's images are so fun to create with. I chose another image for a baby card! I made this card last month when I was in Utah. I have been wanting to use these metal dots and loved how they turned out so I have been using them on a few other cards. Arlana had these little baby feet in your stash! Oh...all of you would have so much fun at Arlana's...you cannot believe all the fun crafty things that she has!!! I brought my own jewels but Arlana had some that were the perfect intensity of color....so wa..la! There you have it! What a fun sketch this week too!
Before you get started on your card...stop by Shirley's 2 Girls....you will love the temptation!

This is the sweet sketch that you will use this week at SSW!
Please remember to follow the sketch!
