Flowers in Bloom
Sweet Sketch 12
Color Challenge

The past two weeks have been filled with lots of activities as I traveled to Utah to be with Arlana and Nancy and also to be with my father. It was only the third time that Nancy, Arlana and I have been together since the passing of our mother 4 1/2 years ago. We had a wonderful time. However, the time passed way to quickly when Nancy had to return home. I was able to stay another 6 days with Arlana and Dad. But Arlana came down with a terrible sinus infection. She is a real trooper as we stayed up crafting until the wee hours of the night....which didn't help her any!!! But we still enjoyed the crafting. She will post some of our creations later on.
I came home to a torn up house. We are reroofing and adding a new porch. We have in house gutters so they are being cut off and changed to the traditional gutters.... A major project to say the least.
I am a caregiver to my father in law and yesterday turned into a full day at the hospital so a lot is happening at this end.
I have not had time this past two weeks to even comment on the blogs...so forgive me.
I will try to get back on track this week!
This card was designed for Sweet Sketch Wednesday. This was a fun card. I was wanting to color in a stamped image but I only had SU pens. Since my trip to Utah...I am now a proud owner of numerous Copics so I will be happen to try them out on future cards but you won't be seeing any of them for some time as I have finished my sketches through Sketch 20.
Anyway, I still had fun trying to color the stamped image. Although I can tell that the Copics color much nicer.
Take a few minutes to view all the cards for Sweet Sketch 12 on Sweet Sketch Wednesday. Better yet, create your own card for Sweet Sketch 12 and post it on the Sweet Sketch Wednesday site. Remember it is a color challenge too! Hope you will play along!
Thanks for your comments! Have a great week!

Sweet Sketch Wednesday
Sweet Sketch 11
Flowers in Bloom

Sweet Sketch 11
This card was made for Sweet Sketch Wednesday. It is Sweet Sketch 11. I wanted to make a card without using a stamp...for the main attraction. This card was inspired by two of our design team members: Liz, who makes most of her cards without using stamps and Teri, who uses various punches to make flowers. Check out their sites here and here. I also wasn't going to do the butterflies on the side but I found these butterflies at the Dollar Tree and couldn't pass them up. Hope you enjoy my Sweet Sketch 11. Be sure to play along this week with us at Sweet Sketch Wednesday.
Supplies:
Stamp: Hero Singing Birds for sentiment

Well, I just want to thank Hollie aka Momiji at Momiji's Madness for nominating me for Kreativ Blogger. What a surprise as I am new to blogging myself!. It has actually taken me over a week just to find time to post my thank you!
Rules:
1. Thank the person who nominated you for this award.

2. Copy the logo and place it on your blog.

3. Link the person's blog who nominated you for this award.

4. Name 7 things about yourself that people might find interesting.

5. Nominate 7 Kreative Bloggers.

6. Post a link to the 7 you nominated.

7. Leave a comment on each of the blogs to let them know they have been nominated.

Seven thing that people might find intersting about me!

Well hummm, that will be interesting!!!

Here goes:

1. I have two wonderful and very talented sisters, Nancy and Arlana. Check out Nancy's blog at Mulberry Station. And Check out Arlana's blog at Sweetberry Designs.

2. My sister, Arlana, is the site owner of the new sketch site at Sweet Sketch Wednesday. Be sure to check her blog out and play along.

3. I have had 5 foot surgeries just two and half years ago.....

4. The fourth surgery was self inflicted...I fractured the surgery just five days after the surgery and had to have it redone. Two surgeries were bunionectomies and the other two were for screw removals.

5. I now walk 4-8 miles a day and love being able to walk pain free. I would do it all over again!!!

6. I have been a caregiver for 17 years....currently caring for my father-in-law.

7. I just rediscovered that I can still Hola Hoop!!!!! From my neck down to my ankles!!!! Are you impressed!!! I was!! I have been trying to teach my grand daughter how to hola hoop!

I am very, very new to the blogging world so the people I know are very limited...although incredible talented. The people I would like to nominate come from my Arlana's Design Team at Sweet Sketch Wednesday....they are:

1. My sister, Arlana, as she was the one who got me into paper crafting. I will always remember picking up the Xyron 150 and saying...."What is this?" She replied, "a sticker maker." I thought to myself...."who would want to make a sticker!!!" Four Xyrons later....The rest is history!!! Arlana is incredibly talented and has been since she was three years old. I have always called her the "Craft Queen." She can make magic out of anything!!! Arlana has already been nominated by Hollie and I know she is terrible busy and will not have time to respond but I still want to nominate her again. She deserves it!!

2. My other sister, Nancy, who is also extremely talented. Nancy is very artistic and I think it still shows in her paper crafting. She can draw anything! As a youth, I was always so jealous of her talent...only that I wished I had that talent too. Now as sisters we just have a blast creating together. She also makes beautiful wedding cakes and the best taking too!!!

3. Liz is another person I want to nominate. I am always amazed at her ability to create so many cards without using stamps! Thanks for sharing your talent with us at SSW. I still follow your blog.

4. Sheri has also been an inspiration to me. I love her clean style and use of borders, nestabilities and embossing folders.

5. I love Teri's signature punch flowers that she uses. Her talent is never ending also. Love her toppers!

6. Pam's cards are also such an inspiration to me...I am always amazed at the variety of cards that Pam comes up with. She has such cute stamps!

7. I also love Jeannie's cards. They are so fresh and fun.

Thanks ladies for all your inspiration to me! So when you see your designs on my cards...take it as a compliment!!!! It's been great getting acquainted with you! I could have included the entire SSW Design Team but I figure you will eventually be nominated too!!!

A Sunflower Day
Sweet Sketch Wednesday
Sweet Sketch 9

Hope you are having a sunny day. This past week we had a record breaking heat wave...104 degrees. Any where else in the US it wouldn't have been a problem but in the Pacific Northwest many of us do not have air conditioners as we usually only get a few days each summer that are in the 90's....but with a week long in the high 90's, it was hard to get the house cooled down at night. But I am not complaining as we had an usually cold Spring which I did complain about. Now it looks like we are back to normal temps....50's at night and 70-80 during the day!!! Perfect for excercising, gardening, etc.
Well, I created this card for my sister's new sketch site.....Sweet Sketch Wednesday. This week is Sweet Sketch 9. We are having so much fun creating cards for Sweet Sketch Wednesday. You will want to take a few minutes to visit and see all the fun cards that have been created during the past 9 weeks. We have such a fantastic Design Team...they are sooooo creative. I just love waking up on Wednesday morning to see all the fun cards that everyone has designed. Then I love watching to see who will play along and what their cards will look like. So make sure you are one of them.
I had so much fun creating this card. I found this wonderful Basic Grey Sunflower dollar stamp at an independant craft store in Tacoma. I'm just getting started with coloring-in stamps...wish I had the Copics but I probably will begin to invest on one of my trips to Utah when I can get a good special or use some coupons. I loved adding the Quickuts Sunflower to this card. Hope it reminds you of those Indian Summer Days....which in case you don't know...is a nice warm or hot fall day....I know they are just around the corner for us. In the Northwest we long for Indian
Summer Days to extend our short summers.

Supplies:
Stamps: Basic Grey Sunflower, Clear Mini Stamp for saying
Paper: DCWV Nana’s Nursery Baby Boy, SU Summer Sun, Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie
Ink: SU Summer Sun, Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie
Embellishment: QuicKutz Sunflower, Ribbon, Brads
Thanks for stopping by. I love reading your comments or suggestions! Be sure to play along with Sweet Sketch Wednesday this week and tell all your card blogging friends to play also.
