Bob and Benji and Spike
Sweet Sketch 59

I usually do not have time to make a second card...but two months ago when I was in Utah visiting Arlana...I was relaxed and had plenty of time to create and enjoy these two images from Digi Stamp Boutique.

For months I have been terribly grumpy about the cold weather that we have experienced in the NW and when I saw this happy summery image of the two perked me up a bit.

We have a pond in our back yard and every spring the frogs come out of hibernation and begin to croak....then I know spring is on it's way.

But I recently found out that part of my grumpiness is due to my low Vitamin D which is a hugh problem here in the NW. So I am now on a mega dose of Vitamin D for 12 weeks...50,000 units a week. Two weeks ago we finally had our summer....we broke heat records all week long...but now we are back to our normal temps...65-80 degrees for this time of year...that is still summer for me if the rain doesn't dampen the sun rays!

Well back to Sally Ann's images:

Don't these little frogs just make you want to jump up and enjoy the sun?

is our sponsor this week and Sally Ann has a series of frogs that she has will love this line...but Sally Ann is constantly creating new images for all of us to take a few moments and check out her store here.

My Dad
Sweet Sketch 57
Sweet Sketch Wednesday
Sponsor: Digi Doodle Shop

These are two pictures of my Dad on the farm when he was 10 and 12 years of age. The first picture is Dad standing in front of the rootbeer stand. The second picture is of him sitting on a pile of watermelons. The acres of farm land no longer is now fancy condos and houses.

So when I saw this Farm Boy image on the Digi Doodle Shop site, I knew I had to use it to create a card for my dad for Father's Day! Doesn't it remind you of him? There were plenty of apples, peaches and cherries on the farm too! I could go on and on but I won't!

Well, I did mail this card to my Dad and he really seemed to enjoy it. Nancy and Arlana also made a card for him. I think we all touched a spot that brought back childhood memories for him.

Our sponsor this week is Digi Doodle Shop and this image is called "Farm Boy and Apples." Digi Doodle Shop has such a fabulous prize this week. They are offering a $10 gift certificate to our weekly winner at Sweet Sketch Wednesday. Now wouldn't you love to go pick out a few of your favorite images!

Here is the sketch you will use this week to play along for a chance

to win the $10 Gift Certificate!

Happy Fourth of July!

I just want to wish everyone a happy and safe Fourth of July! This is another card that I made while I was visiting with Arlana this past week! Arlana purchased this stamp last year but we had never used it! This cute little biker bee reminds me of my kids when they were young. We always had a parade in July on the first day of the County Fair. If you were in the parade you had free admission! It was always a lot of work but the kids always enjoyed it....a full day from 7 a.m. til 9 or 10 p.m.

Arlana created the sketch pieces and then we decided to do whatever we wanted with the pieces. Since I was at Arlana's I decided to try Arlana's signature stitching! I was surprised that I was able to gauge the stitching as well as I did! But I went much slower than Arlana does. When Arlana sews the machine just zooms......After I did my stitching and put the ribbon on, I was trying to decide what I needed to do to add a little pazzazzz. Well, Arlana was already cutting out the embossed stars for her card! I just can't believe how she is always thinking of something new and it's usually right there. But do you think my mind would think of it! So I do not take credit for these stars. Arlana used them in a totally different way....that's her creative mind again.
I really enjoyed using these metal dots. I used them on my last Fourth of July card just two posts back. They are a great $1 find at Joann's but they have been closing them out and I think I purchased all of them!!! But you can find them in a more expensive pack at various craft stores. I used the smallest adhesive dot to adhere them but when I flew home the plane pressure squished all the adhesive out from underneath the dot so I had to do some repair excuse the glue you see!
This Cuttlebug embossing folder adds great texture to your card. I was hoping to find a star folder... more like the little heart folder....but I was pleasantly surprised at the beauty of this embossing star! It will make a great addition to your collection!
Thank, Arlana, for the fun times and laughter we had making our cards!
To Everyone: Have a great Independence weekend and be safe!
