Pirate Josh and Parrot
Sweet Sketch 102-43

Ahoy Mate!  I would like to take you away on a pirate's trip.  You might see a creature or two not of your liking!  And at times the sea is not for weak of heart and mind!

Welcome blog friends and followers!  Of course, it is Sweet Sketch Wednesday again!  And I enjoyed creating this Pirate card for you!  You may already know that this is an image from
I always love Sally Ann's images and had to try my hand at creating with this Pirate Josh and Parrot.  With my Copic markers I tried to create a wood deck look on an old pirates ship.  I also had the MS Crab punch that I wanted to incorporate into the card!  So I used some jute to make some rolled up rope with the crab crawling over it!  I punched him out in SU Pumpkin Pie cardstock and inked him up with SU Real Rust and then added Glossy Accents to his shell.  However, when I added the gloss the effect of the Real Rust almost disappeared.  But even with a few bubbles in the gloss it added some dimension to the crab's shell.  Then I figured the old pirate might see a few clams so I added the pearls that might be in his treasure box!
Hope you like it!

  2. Oh Judi, this is just too cute. I love your little crab and the rolled up jute. What a cleaver idea. I wondered what it was under that little guy. Soooo cute! The glossy accent adds the perfect touch to your little crab. Your card is adorable.
    Hugs, Nancy

  3. Aaarrgg me matey!! This here is one fabulous card of Joshie the pirate!!!! Love that little crab, soooo very clever. You won't be needin' to walk the plank for this one dear Judi! It's wonderful!!!

  4. Hi Judi, I just love your card, what an awesome boys card. My boys would have loved this when they were younger. Love the jute and your wonderful crab. Judi I use "Papier Glass Finish" I find it doesn't change any colours when you put it on your colouring or punched image, it always dries clear and you can keep on layering it when it dries to really give that 3D effect and if I ever get air bubbles I just get a pin and pop them that gets rid of them. Comes in a bottle of 2fl oz or 50mls and lasts for yonks. I sometimes use it as a glue when making flowers as it sticks with a little bit on quite quickly and is made in USA. A little colder here this morning, but we don't get snow like Arlana gets as it doesn't get cold enough. Take care and have a great week.

  5. What a fun little guy! Your papers are awesome and I adore that crab!

    Peace & Luv,
