I had a few frustrations with my printer ink on this card. For some reason the ink is flaking off the paper. Has anyone had this problem? I am using the Laserjet. I have only had this problem one other time.
Also you can't tell by the picture, but the jewel on top of the cake is a heart jewel that perfectly fits the heart image.
The stick pin was saved from something I received last year for Valentine's Day. I thought it went with the paper but again it hardly shows in the picture. It stands out better when you see it face to face. So I took a close up shot of the stick pin! Cute...huh!
When I first finished the card it looked like this.
I thought it would look better with some added stitching around the circle. So I tore it apart and tried to do Arlana's sewing technique. Well, it's not as easy as she makes it look! But I do think it is what the card needed. I'll have to do some more practicing! Practice does make perfect!
This is the sketch for the week. Be sure to check out all the details on SSW! Let's see what you can create!

Yep! The stitching really added punch to the card - love it!! The cake looks so yummy, I love the texture you added to it. And see... some people think it's a bad thing to hoard little trinkets, but you saving that pin and using it on your card was the perfect touch.

ReplyDeleteHi Judi, what a pretty card-these are a perfect match and so eye appealing. You know, I like the card without the stitching but you are right, the stitching definitely makes it ZING! Wow, what a difference, huh? I will have to try my hand at stitching. ;P
