Bugaboo Photo Inspired Challenge

I have to say the photo below instills some real nostalgia in me.
It reminds me of my father.
In fact this garden looks much like my father's farm in Utah.
This photo is called
A Bunch of Carrots by Robert Duncan,
an artist who lives in Midway, Utah.
The mountain range in this photo is part of the Wasatch front.
It looks just like the portion of the range that I have viewed my entire life.

A Bunch of Carrots
 Robert Duncan

I have used the colors in this photo to create my card.
I do not have a garden like my father's so
I chose the Bugaboo birdhouses image because I love the
chickadees, titmouse, finch, grosbeak and hummingbirds
that come to my feeders during the year.

I wanted to use my Sizzix Top Note and SU Butterfly Wings;
therefore, my creation began from these parameters
along with this photo inspiration.

This is my last week to create with the Bugaboo DT.
I just want to say thank you to everyone at Bugaboo and
to all of you who have come to visit!

Thanks for the privilege of being
Bugaboo's Biggest Fan for April 2015!

Hope you will remember to take some time to play along at

Bugaboo's Bingo Challenge

Can you see how much fun I had creating this birthday card for one of my grandson's?
This is Bugaboo's Martian-ship image.

The font is called AR HermAnn.  Love the swirls in the o's!

Dragonfly Journeys
Challenge No 1~Dragonflies

This week at Dragonfly Journeys, Jeannie, started a new Challenge blog.  Jeannie is a former Sweet Sketch Wednesday DT member and friend.  I have always loved Jeannie's creations so it's fun to see her break out on her own.  In case you can't tell, Jeannie, loves dragonflies.  I had to do a little hunting to find a dragonfly for this card.  I actually had a stamp in my collection but didn't like how it inked up so I did a search on the internet and came up with this freebie digi and printed it off in two sizes.

Be sure to stop by and check out Dragonfly Journeys!

Bugaboo Earth Day Challenge

Happy Earth Day!

Earth Day History

Ever wondered how Earth Day started? This observance arose from an interest in gathering national support for environmental issues. In 1970, San Francisco activist John McConnell and Wisconsin Senator Gaylord Nelson separately asked Americans to join in a grassroots demonstration. McConnell chose the spring equinox (March 21, 1970) and Nelson chose April 22. Millions of people participated, and today Earth Day continues to be widely celebrated with events on both dates. The most common practice of celebration is to plant new trees for Earth Day.

Any way you choose to celebrate Earth Day,
I hope we will always remember to keep our earth clean.
Remember to recycle as much as you can and
keep our parks, mountains, lakes and oceans free from debris.
Leave them cleaner than when your arrived so that others will enjoy their beauty too!

I used this Bugaboo Stamp Crab Boat to remind you of our oceans and the lovely creatures that are housed there.  Please allow them to stay!  Do not pour chemicals down your street drains as they drain directly to rivers, lakes and the ocean!

When I was visiting Hong Kong and Okinawa
nothing was more beautiful than viewing
a pink dolphin, sea turtles and many other creatures.
 Happy Earth Day!

Remember to check out Bugaboo's Earth Day Challenge at

Thank you, Bugaboo DT, for choosing me as your
Biggest Fan for the month of April!

Hello Baby Giraffe

I have loved this image from the moment I saw it on ADFD.  It is called Hello Baby Giraffe! I am so happy to create with it this week!  I tried something different this time...I have never used the dots around an image but I must say I had so much fun dotting this little giraffe!  I also popped the ear on the first card since it didn't fit inside the deckled frame.  Love the dimension it gave to the card!   I wasn't able to locate any purple pearls so I inked them up to match! I also love using the stitching lines.  I see that it is a little crooked although it isn't as noticeable in real life!  On occasion I like making two cards...partly because I love the paper choices and partly because I like having extra cards available.

Thanks you, Tammy, for creating such a fun image!

Bears Birthday

I have created this card for the Anything Goes Challenge at
Isn't this the most adorable birthday image from
It is called
Frame It - Bears Birthday and can be found here.
I am using a past sketch from SSW2;
however, I have flipped the sketch,
I colored the image up with copics and
used satin ribbon from Michael's.
The yellow and orange ribbon is from my stash.
The DP is BoBunny Sun Kissed Stripe and Sun Kissed Adventure.
I also used some Glossy Accents on the balloons and heart
and stickles on the confetti sparkles.

I have some other fun news to share!

Bugaboo's Biggest Fan for the month of April.
I am so excited to create with the Bugaboo Design Team this month.

A Little Lighthouse and Sweet Stuff

My sister, Arlana, made an adorable shaker card this week for SSW2 and convinced me that I needed to make one also.  Then Arlana also convinced our other sister, Nancy, to make one. This is the first time in a little over a year since we closed the original SSW that we, three sisters, have created together. This is my first try at making a shaker card and I have to say it was quite fun to put together. Thanks, Arlana, for the inspiration!  It's great to see your creations again and to create as sisters!

I was going to make this one into a shaker card but decided that I liked it best as it is!  I added Crystal Effects to the gum ball machine and also the gum and then decided to add the rain drops on the corner of the chevron paper.

Their name and year is on the back of the card.
Next week they will use some foam stickers to make another Valentine card all on their own!
Having fun with the crafts for the children!

Wedding Hearts

Last week I was in desperate need of some wedding cards and saw this cute heart Bride and Groom on the internet.  I wanted my card to be plain and simple but then decided it needed something added to it. So I added the eyelet corners and pearls.
I used the turquoise and pink cardstock because I am matching the gift bags that I am using.

Then I decided to use a printed paper and make an A2 card.
I like the printed papers best and will probably do some more creating with some wedding DP.
Definitely a fun and easy card to put together.

Hope you enjoy!
Have a wonderful February!  Hard to believe it is here!

Cute Nativity Set 2 from Digi Stamp Boutique

Life has been a little busy lately but very enjoyable at the same time.  I had a surprise visit to Okinawa to visit my daughter...compliments of her.  I loved the extended sunshine and being chauffeured around the island.  Upon my return I began helping with our annual Church Festival of the Nativities for Tacoma, Washington.  It's a lovely free event for the community...held on the first weekend of December.  It is a
beautiful display of 1000 plus nativities from around the world, a live nativity, numerous musical numbers...plus paintings of the Savior's birth, life, death, resurrection and visit to the American Continent after his resurrection.  If you're in the area next year, make it part of your Christmas celebration with your family.  It is well worth it.

One of the nativities created a little bit of nostalgia for me...as this cardstock nativity below was handed out in Primary years ago to every child in the church.  My copy lasted until my third child when it was accidentally torn. We have a very talented sister, Helen Christensen, in our church who recreated this on wood for the Festival of the Nativities...making it life size...

It is 8 feet tall and approximately 30 feet wide....a stunning re-creation!

So my mind has been enjoying the beauty of Nativities of all types.  This is the reason I chose Sally-Ann's Cute Nativity Set 2 from her shop at Digi Stamp Boutique.

I enjoyed sitting down and relaxing a bit to create this card and reminiscing about the birth of the Savior and the true meaning of Christmas!

I chose to print the image in several sizes to use the sheep as my embellishments.  I have popped them in three different heights!  Hope you enjoy!

"All images/designs are created and copyright owned by Sally-Ann Hancock.  My work means the world to me - it allows my passion to draw and create, to fit with my family life too, often the inspiration for my designs.  Hope you enjoy my images as much as I enjoy creating them."

We would love to have you play along at Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2 and show us your creations!  Digi Stamp Boutique is our sponsor this week and Sally-Ann is offering a £10 voucher if you are our Grand Prize Winner at SSW2.  This is the sketch you should use!

Have a very Merry Christmas!  Thanks for stopping by!
