What a spectacular event to watch a
Red Orchid Cactus bloom!
Yesterday my Red Orchid Cactus bloom started to open up. I thought it was going to take a few more days to open but I had the oppportunity last night to watch it open during a 90 minute watch! Below are the photos. The bloom measurers 8 inches in diameter.

oh, i am so happy for you, it is so magical to see these blooms, much more from your own gardening. i just planted mine this year from small cuttings, each time i see some growth, it makes me happy, wonder how much happier i would be to see it bloom.
